As I was leaving the abandoned adobe homes this afternoon, this caught my eye. I know it isn't some wonderful sunset over the hills or across the water, but the sun shining through this greenhouse was quite pretty. nmfinfan on Flickr: Posted a Photo
I love to walk along the Rio Grande. I go down there as often as I can, which really is not as often as I would like. It's peaceful down there.
Today was a busy day, but luckily for me, my husband had a business dinner this evening. Keely and Kyler were invited over to our neighbors' for dinner. Translation: I did not have to cook so I went out to take photos instead. nmfinfan on Flickr: Posted a Photo
Sandia Crest and snow.
On Friday, I drove up to Sandia Crest. I had to go all the way around the Sandia Mountains and it took me over an hour to get there. I wanted to get out of the house for awhile and some fresh air sounded like a good idea. I needed an S photo anyway and in the seven years we have lived here, I had never been up there.
The elevation is just over 10,600 feet and the air was wonderful. It was a lovely drive to the top. richardzx on Flickr: Posted a Photo

There are some abandoned adobe homes in the middle of a neighborhood in the North Valley. They are for sale but I can't imagine who would ever buy them. All of the property is covered with garbage and no attempt has been made to clean up the area. I think that if I were one of the neighbors, I would be complaining to the city about the state of the property. You really wouldn't believe all of the stuff that has been left behind.
There were signs on the houses that read, "No Trespassing" but nothing on the (open) fence or property. I interpreted that to mean that I could go onto the property as long as I did not go into the houses. nmfinfan on Flickr: Posted a Photo

This door was laying in a dirty old bathtub that was behind the house. nmfinfan on Flickr: Posted a Photo

Another pretty find around the back of the house. nmfinfan on Flickr: Posted a Photo

Tramway. Okay, I'm going to try to make up the three letters of the alphabet that I missed.
This is a photo of the Sandia Peak Tramway. They claim it is the longest tramway in the world. It transports people above deep canyons and scary looking terrain at a distance of 2.7 miles. The observation deck is on top of the 10,378 foot Sandia Peak in the Cibola National Forest. From that deck, there is an 11,000 square-mile panoramic view of the Rio Grande Valley and the Land of Enchantment.
We had lived in ABQ about 3 weeks when I rode the tram to the top. I absolutely hated it. Dustin held Kyler, who was about 10 months old at the time. He loved it and she was oblivious. Dalen was just over seven years old and he thought it was super cool. Keely was about 3.5 years old. She and I, literally, sat on the floor and cried the entire way up. I have never gone up in that stupid thing again.
Everyone who visits ABQ wants to ride the tram to the top. I drive them out there and wait for them at the bottom! The base elevation is about 6,600 feet and that view is good enough for me! :) nmfinfan on Flickr: Posted a Photo
I went out on Friday night to practice taking night shots. I also wanted to try some long exposure shots of the traffic, but that was kind of a flop. I had never done it before and I wanted to try something new. I forgot my tripod and I had NO idea how sensitive the camera is with those types of shots. None of them turned out, but they were kind of, sort of close. Anyway, this sculpture was in front of the fire station by where I was trying to photograph the traffic. It changes colors every few seconds and it caught my eye. Nothing spectacular and easy enough to photograph so here it is. nmfinfan on Flickr: Posted a Photo

Rail Runner. Another super exciting photo, I know. I'm lucky I even took this one today. I hate playing catch up...mostly because I never win! :)
The New Mexico Rail Runner Express started service for the public in July 2006. I have never actually been on it but I hear that it's a fun little trip from ABQ to Sante Fe, especially for the kiddos. Maybe one of these days.
I couldn't get on the computer this morning to check the schedule so I drove over to the Rail Runner station to try to get a photo. The next train wouldn't arrive until 5:34pm and I knew there was no way that I would make it back over there. Instead, you get this.
I will not miss a letter of the alphabet no matter how crappy and boring the photo turns out! :) I am forcing myself to take a photo a day. I mean, it is quantity, not quality. Right? Ha ha. dankoczera on Flickr: Posted a Photo
